NCSU diagnostic position

The NCSU Plant Disease and Insect Clinic (PDIC) is a diagnostics laboratory whose aim is to serve clients (mainly in the state of NC) by providing diagnoses of plant pathogens and insect pests, and potential recommendations for their control.  Personnel in the clinic also assist in diagnostics training for other individuals in the state (especially extension pesonnel), and communicate information about diagnostics.

2-year Term Biological Science Technician position at the Resistance Screening Center

The USDA Forest Service Region 8, Forest Health Protection, is outreaching a 2-year Term Biological Science Technician position at the Resistance Screening Center (RSC) located in the Bent Creek Experimental Forest in Asheville, North Carolina. The RSC is a facility where tree seedlings are propagated and screened against a variety of plant pathogens to determine resistance. Priority diseases include fusiform rust & pitch canker on southeastern pines, Phytophthora root rot on hybrid chestnut, dogwood anthracnose, and brown spot needle blight.

Graduate Research Assistantship at University of Georgia

One MS /Ph.D. Research Assistant Position for fall, 2021. The successful applicants will conduct experiments on the development of advanced diagnostic methods for rapid and confident identification of plant diseases due to virus, bacteria, or fungus using next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies such as minION, PacBio sequencing.
