The Greenhouse and Nursery Pathology lab at UC Davis, under the leadership of Johanna Del Castillo, is seeking a candidate to provide support to the “Accreditation to Improve Restoration” (AIR, https://restoration.sf.ucdavis.edu/), a program that promotes best management practices (BMPs) in native plant nurseries to prevent plant pathogen introductions. The incumbent will work closely with restoration nurseries by conducting BMPs audits, providing technical support to obtain accreditation, conducting plant pathogen testing, and monitoring plant health on recently restored sites. Additional activities include: monitoring of plant pathogens on native plants, website and database maintenance, training undergraduate research assistants, presenting work to stakeholders and research communities, and assisting with workshops for growers, advisors, U.S. Forest Service personnel and others.
