2024 NPDN IT Meeting Review

Mike Hill, NPDN IT Director

The NPDN IT Meeting was held on January 24th and 25th 2024 via Zoom and LearnUpon. Both days were well attended.

Day one, open to all members, began with an introduction by NPDN Deputy Executive Director, Alicyn Smart. IT priorities and accomplishments of 2023 were shared by the CERIS (Center for Environmental and Regulatory Information Systems) team followed by Allina Bennett with professional development updates. The first day of the meeting concluded with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) breakout sessions.

Day two of the meeting was restricted to committee members, leadership, and IT. Each committee was given 10 minutes to discuss their highest IT priority needs. After discussing each of the priorities, a vote was conducted to determine the IT priorities for 2024. Those priorities are shown below in order from highest priority to lowest priority.

Bar graph of IT priorities

The first two priorities will involve solutions available to all network members. The remaining three priorities will involve custom software that will be created, updated, and enhanced by the NPDN IT Team. We will work to address as many of these priorities as possible with the goal of completing the top 2-3 priorities by the end of the year.

The agenda, meeting minutes, presentations, and recordings are now available to view by visiting the NPDN site at https://npdn.ceris.purdue.edu/it_meetings. The 2024 meeting link will take members to the LearnUpon course that contains this information for the 2024 meeting. The NPDN IT team will continue updating this page to ensure it contains information related to previous IT meetings.

Thank you to everyone that took part in this year's IT meeting. We look forward to seeing many of you in Maine at the upcoming NPDN National Meeting in September. If you have IT questions or need assistance, please contact us at IT@npdn.org.
